Excavation & Site Preparation
Every job we complete, whether patio, path, foundation or concrete driveway, includes basic excavation, for a flat or gentle sloping area with good drainage and firm substrate for compacting the base fill onto.
If your site has difficult or steep terrain, our cost calculator lets you define up to two additional areas to suit.
You can also calculate the cost for us to remove your old driveway if necessary, just enter the square area of it.
Tips: To ensure a strong and durable concrete project, good excavation and preparation is everything. Note that excavation can be the biggest variable when quoting the cost of any concrete laying job.
Concrete Thickness & Finish
Choose from a range of concrete thicknesses, colours and finishes, for up to three different areas.
Tips: All newly poured concrete shrinks slightly as it dries which can result in cracks. Reinforcing Mesh and Expansion Cuts are used to control potential cracking.
- Stamped and pattern cut concrete footpaths and patios should be at least 100mm thick.
- Plain driveways need a minimum concrete thickness of 100mm.
- Stamped concrete driveways, tile cut driveways and vehicle crossings need a concrete thickness of 150mm
